While standard operating environments serve an important purpose, they can also stifle innovation and hinder our ability to deliver IT solutions that meet the needs of the business in realistic cost and time frames.
Tabcorp’s wagering division was recently faced with such a challenge. The business saw an opportunity to increase loyalty and revenue from top customers by providing a single consolidated account that could be used from any interface. However, their existing technology stack could not meet the requirements of the project.
Tabcorp required a technology that could handle peak transaction rates approaching 1000 per second and provide a strong yet flexible development base to cater for an ever-changing business.
Using InterSystems technology, the IT team was able to deliver “unachievable” business results, with minimal impact on the Standard Operating Environment (SOE).
